The debate has been going on for a while now.. Which CMS seems to be the best and most powerful — Now I have my own opinion to make, that won’t possibly change what you know already but make you think differently.

This whole debate will never end as we as developers and designers have favourites of our own and we even go as far as helping the development of theses platforms grow. I have come to my conclusion about the BIG 3.. I hvae put them in order their order of being user friendly and powerful..

Wordpress

Wordpress is very easy to setup and configure.. its an excellent platform to use for creating a website that lets you quickly get your site out on the web, just as much as its often used as a blog, it can be customised to work in many other interesting ways as well.

Very user friendly

Excellent for blogging

Not so powerful

Joomla!

Didnt know that Joomla is a Swahili (Urdu)word meaning (all together) .. and thats what Joomla! is all about. Joomla! is the level between Wordpress and Drupal, Still very user friendly but not like Wordpress and very powerful but not as Drupal. This is a platform admired more by designers rather than hands-on code developers.. has thousands of the components and modules and is the fastest growing CMSs out in the market.. even though it limits you.

Friendly for users, designers and developers

Very huge community for assisting and growing the platform

Vulnerable to hackers

Drupal

If you’re the type of person who who is more hands on with code or if you enjoy tweaking the code that makes up the framework of a website, then Drupal is probably for you. Drupal seems more powerful to the other 2 with all the tags and functions it has.. even though it’s community background isn’t as great as I expected. Developers feel home to Drupal.

Developers love it

Create high performing website

Complicated to jump into

All you should know is one platform is greater than the other.. Only the sites goals and intention will guide you with platform to use.. I use all 3 even though I am more Joomla! orientated .. so if you still wondering which platform is best amongst the 3.. Mfundo says there isnt one until you know what you want do!

I accidentally deleted the one and only Super admin I had on one of my sites..

Luckily I had administrator accounts to login to the back-end to do the basics but still needed the Super Admin rights to even back-up my site.Tried googling how to create a New Super Administrator using PHP Myadmin. Most of the articles that came were very outdated they were Joomla 1.0x and some for mambo.

Here’s how to do it on 1.5:

INSERT INTO `jos_users` VALUES (62, ‘Administrator’, ‘admin’, ‘your-email@email.com’, ‘21232f297a57a5a743894a0e4a801fc3′, ‘Super Administrator’, 0, 1, 25, ‘2005-09-28 00:00:00′, ‘2005-09-28 00:00:00′, ”, ”);
INSERT INTO `jos_core_acl_aro` VALUES (10,’users’,'62′,0,’Administrator’,0);
INSERT INTO `jos_core_acl_groups_aro_map` VALUES (25,”,10);

make sure you delete the administrator which ID 62 in the jos_core_acl_aro table or else the query will send back an error saying there’s a duplicate entry.

NB: Sometimes when you try to log in the back-end it will say you dont have rights to perform such action.. we’ll just do it again.. delete the entries in the tables and run the query again.

IT WORKED FOR ME!

I had a very frustrating time working on code written by some one else..

I mean I’m no expert when it come to JavaScript.. I had no idea what the hell was going on.. I first had to check which script didn’t like the other.. Working in Joomla with their prefix’s just confused me more… all the JHTML:(behaviour’ ‘).

I was like Oh! my word what I have I got myself into .. there’s a rumor going around that God created Google on the 8th day — So it was my only way to get answers…

It’s very simple really, it worked for me — Hope it works for you to.

Just add:

<script type=”text/javascript”>
$.noConflict();
// Code that uses other library’s $ can follow here.
</script>

After all your Jquery scripts have loaded and Mootools will load after… Apparently they say it’s the functions that get all crossed up and confused.

Here’s the full story from the Experts

I got stunned when I wrote my HTML neatly and validated it but when sent through to emails the layout was a mess.

Went through my code twice or maybe thrice but the code looked fine.. even used firefox and IE 8 to view my piece of code”it’s all seems fine I tell my self”.

Had to get a friend of mine to help write the HTML for me.. Until I started Googling how to write HTML for Outlook since the majority of people would be using it as a mail client.

There’s no much difference I tell you but thought I’d share what I found online with people who might got struck just like I did.

Whew! it was very competitive I must say — the teams were there to only prove one thing “Ultimate at its best”.

The cold wind got my throws everywhere(One disadvantage if you from the northern part of the country) but with guidance and teamwork I managed to get the disc moving…

We had injuries and cramps but that didnt bring us down, we kept pushing — “thanks to the Big Lionel who bought me electrolytes.. I was saved”.

The team played a great together..came position 5 nationally.

Thanks to our Coach, Rahul — The Ultitude is getting better in time!
